Help Me Understand

The corporation drives me to despair
I keep wondering what brought us to here
Help me understand
How did things get so bad

All I wanted was to write my own songs
Somehow I ended up in places I didn't belong
Help me understand
How did things get this way

Was it all out of our control
Or could we have turned this ship around
It's sad to see through all these turbulent times
Now we're so lost there is only one way out

This corporation keeps me awake at night
Counting all the wrongs and can't justify the right
Help me understand
How did I let it slip away

There is no master plan
Help me understand
Show me a different way
How did things ever get this way

I tried to hold her hand

The money saved is more money spent
Getting lost in the scuffle of this clearance event

No sign of light through another door
They keep on taking and throwing us more

How could a good dream quickly fade

    I hope you figure it out. For me its the opposite. I'd venture that attitude makes all the difference. The good dream is on the horizon, not faded at all. Just remember that things always get worse before they get better. Once our society hits bottom, you'll see changes, and death and violence, and beauty and community.

    You're drive to understand will keep you in the dark. Maybe replace it with a drive to appreciate and enjoy what you DO have, rather than looking at what's missing, or what is not in accordance with your minds wishes. You might find that the universe is trying to teach you self-satisfaction. Anyway, I hope you turn around this gloomy feeling.
