Ice Cream Genius

I feel like the world is spiraling down
The twisting and turning has gotten me down
How can one life be as short as it has been
There was never a choice, only a place for it to begin

I feel like the heart no longer has a cure
The battles are won and lost, but nothing left is pure
I try to create a new life for you and me
But in the eyes of the children there's no place left to be

Sometimes I feel like I should be on a tropical beach
Selling ice cream and lemonade to the tourists in the streets
The children would come from miles around
Living and laughing through the waves of the sound

I feel like the world has taken it's toll
The lonely and the haunted are never letting go
Who are we to judge what the future could have been
There was never a chance, but where can one begin

Sometimes I feel like I should be on a tropical beach
Selling ice cream and candy to the children in our reach
The fresh air from the ocean pours on us like sand
Living and laughing in a far away land

Sometimes I feel Like I should be on a tropical beach
Selling ice cream and post cards like a vendor on the street
The ozone and the stardust cross paths with the moon
Selling ice cream and lemonade every hot afternoon
